Import your PowerPoint, keep its formatting and animations, and keep editing in AhaSlides.
Until now, importing a PowerPoint into AhaSlides brought each slide in as a picture. That is great for presenting a deck exactly as designed, but the moment you spot a typo or want to change a date, you are back in PowerPoint, exporting and importing all over again.
Not any more.
What’s new
Editable PowerPoint import turns your .pptx file into normal AhaSlides slides. Your text, shapes and layout arrive as real AhaSlides content, so you can click into any slide and change it right there in the editor.
How to use it
- Upload your PowerPoint: click Import on your My Presentations dashboard, or the import icon in the editor, and choose your .pptx file.
- Pick Import as editable slides: this is the new option, marked Beta.
- Keep editing: your slides land in your presentation, ready to change. Then add polls, quizzes and word clouds between them, wherever you want the room to join in.

Two ways to bring a deck in
When you upload a .pptx file, you now get two choices:
- Import slides: each slide comes in as an image, looking exactly as you designed it. Pick this when you only want to present the deck as it is, or if a file will not convert.
- Import as editable slides (Beta): each slide comes in as AhaSlides content you can edit. Pick this when you want to keep working on the deck in AhaSlides.
What carries over
- Text, shapes and layout, all editable.
- Formatting, so your deck keeps its look.
- Animations, which you can fine-tune in the Animate tab.
Good to know: a few complex elements may come in as images. Every deck is different, so give your imported slides a quick look before you present.

Tell us how it went
This is a Beta, and your decks are the best test we could ask for. Try importing one of yours, then tell us in the replies below, or email amy@ahaslides.com: what came through well, what did not look quite right, and what you would like it to handle next. If something did not convert, a quick description of the slide helps us fix it faster.
